1. Who this applies to
Every user of Knockhaus — owners, managers, reps, contractors, platform admins. This policy is part of the Terms of Service. Violations can result in suspension or termination.
2. Prohibited content + conduct
- Illegal activity of any kind, including fraud, money laundering, or tax evasion.
- Harassment, threats, hate speech, or targeting of individuals.
- Malware, phishing, or content designed to deceive.
- Scraping or re-selling homeowner contact data sourced from our platform for a different purpose than the consent given.
- Attempting to access another org's data, probing our infrastructure for vulnerabilities without our express written permission (see security@knockhaus.app for the coordinated disclosure program).
- Reverse engineering, decompiling, or building a competing product from our platform.
- Sharing account credentials between users. Every rep, manager, and admin should have their own seat.
3. Messaging — TCPA + CAN-SPAM
The Telephone Consumer Protection Act and state equivalents are real. Do not:
- Send marketing SMS to a phone number without prior express written consent where required.
- Ignore opt-outs. STOP messages must be honored immediately, and we enforce this at the platform level.
- Call or text numbers on the National Do Not Call Registry or state DNC registries outside an established business relationship.
- Send commercial email without an unsubscribe link and a valid physical postal address (CAN-SPAM).
- Pretend to be someone you're not in the “From” line or subject.
If you turn on the Email or Cadence add-ons you remain the party responsible for compliance with the laws of each jurisdiction where your reps operate.
4. Door-to-door + local ordinances
Many cities and HOAs require a peddlers' permit, restrict knock hours, or maintain local do-not-knock lists. It's your responsibility to honor them. Our territory tools can ingest a DNK list if you upload one — but we don't audit your compliance for you.
5. Homeowner data
Data a homeowner provides through a rep's digital card or a contract signing is theirs. Use it for the purpose you collected it (sales follow-up, servicing the sale) and nothing else. Don't resell lead lists. Don't enrich homeowner data from third parties without a lawful basis.
6. Fair use of infrastructure
You may not:
- Send more than 5 concurrent requests per user to any API endpoint.
- Bulk-export more than 100,000 rows per day via the public API without prior agreement.
- Host websites, newsletters, or other content outside the Knockhaus product scope on our infrastructure.
7. Enforcement
We investigate reports at abuse@knockhaus.app. First response is proportional: a warning, a temporary suspension, or — for egregious or repeated violations — immediate termination. We will preserve evidence and cooperate with law enforcement when legally required.
